(a) be a resident or a permanent resident of Australia;

If notice is given within this period, the prospective student is released from liability under the residential agreement.
If a prospective student, however, fails to give notice within this period, the resident shall be liable, to the full extent, for the continuing liability provisions under the residential agreement for a termination of the residential agreement prior to the agreed contract term.
