QUT Inaugural Dragon Boat Race

On Saturday the 15th of September KGSV competed against 10 other teams in QUT’s inaugural Dragon Boat Race. We were up against Urbanest, QUT Business, East West and QUT connect just to name a few. We trained hard for 3 weekends with the Brisbane River Dragons prior to the event but alas we did not take a hold of either 1st, 2nd or 3rd position. We did however come 2nd in our division and took out the Best Dressed Team! We decided to be the KGSV PIRATES with our theme being red shirts with pirate accessories, thankfully a resident was handy with makeup and helped us with our overall look of being gnarly pirates.
The day was filled of friendly competition with banter between teams and encouragement all round. We built relationships within the QUT community and we are looking forward to next year’s event. We may even compete in an upcoming adventure race depending on our numbers.
This event truly helped us build relationships within the village and create a unique experience for all involved.
